Indian Glitz, African Glamour… the theme could not have been more suitable for this year’s ABC Bank Miss India Kenya 2005 beauty pageant.

The Indian Glitz round... dazzling or what?

The months of rigorous training finally came to an end on the 27th night of August 2005, as each of the ten finalists prepared to showcase her talent and mesmerize the audience with her beauty and catwalk.

The event kicked-off by Mr. & Mrs. Ashraf Savani of the ABC Bank, who cut a cake to celebrate twenty successful years that ABC Bank has been in the business.

This was followed by the opening round where each beauty walked the ramp in sensational black sarees. Needless to say, the crowd was already hooked!

Eric Wainaina did best what he normally does. He sang a beautiful multi-language song. Of course, the audience was happy to get the best of both worlds from him. Other performances were by Mellow Dee (also known as Melissa De Block, last year’s Miss India Kenya queen), a superb performance by Action in Focus and the Safari Cats.

Shelina Popat of Contact Network came on stage to thank all her sponsors and presented a token of appreciation to Mr. A Ruzaik, the Managing Director, East FM for his unconditional support throughout all Miss India Kenya pageants. She also thanked Jasmine Postwalla and Benjamin for their support in putting up a great show!
